Type species: ¤ Gulosibacter molinativorax Manaia et al. 2004.
Etymology: L. adj. gulosus, gluttonous, luxurious, dainty, fond of titbits; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Gulosibacter, rod fond of titbits.

Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) CAU 9625 = CCUG 60841 = KCTC 13959.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: HQ268603.
Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. chungangensis, named after Chung-Ang University, where the taxonomic studies on this species were performed.
