Haloactinospora Tang et al. 2008, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Haloactinospora alba Tang et al. 2008.
Etymology: Gr. n. hals halos, salt; Gr. n. aktis -inos, a ray; Gr. n. spora, a seed and, in biology, a spore; N.L. fem. n. Haloactinospora, salt-loving and spored ray, referring to a halophilic and spore-forming actinomycete.
Valid publication: TANG (S.K.), TIAN (X.P.), ZHI (X.Y.), CAI (M.), WU (J.Y.), YANG (L.L.), XU (L.H.) and LI (W.J.): Haloactinospora alba gen. nov., sp. nov., a halophilic filamentous actinomycete of the family Nocardiopsaceae. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2008, 58, 2075-2080.
