Type genus: ¤ Hydrogenophilus Hayashi et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Hydrogenophilus, type genus of the order; suff. -ales, ending denoting an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Hydrogenophilales, the Hydrogenophilus order.
