Ignavibacterium Iino et al. 2010, gen. nov. (Type genus of the order ¤ Ignavibacteriales Iino et al. 2010; type genus of the family ¤ Ignavibacteriaceae Iino et al. 2010).
Type species: ¤ Ignavibacterium album Iino et al. 2010.
Etymology: L. adj. ignavus, lazy; L. neut. n. bacterium, rod; N.L. neut. n. Ignavibacterium, a lazy rod.
Valid publication: IINO (T.), MORI (K.), UCHINO (Y.), NAKAGAWA (T.), HARAYAMA (S.) and SUZUKI (K.I.): Ignavibacterium album gen. nov., sp. nov., a moderately thermophilic anaerobic bacterium isolated from microbial mats at a terrestrial hot spring and proposal of Ignavibacteria classis nov., for a novel lineage at the periphery of green sulfur bacteria.
