Type species: ¤ Kozakia baliensis Lisdiyanti et al. 2002.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Kozakia, named after Kozaki, to honour the Japanese microbiologist Michio Kozaki, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University of Agriculture, in recognition of his contributions to the study of micro-organisms in tropical regions, especially Southeast Asia.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. baliensis, pertaining to Bali, Indonesia, where the type strain was isolated.
