Kribbia Jung et al. 2006, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Kribbia dieselivorans Jung et al. 2006.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Kribbia, arbitrary name formed from the acronym of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, KRIBB, where taxonomic studies of this taxon were performed.
Valid publication: JUNG (S.Y.), KIM (H.S.), SONG (J.J.), LEE (S.G.), OH (T.K.) and YOON (J.H.): Kribbia dieselivorans gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel member of the family Intrasporangiaceae. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2006, 56, 2427-2432.

Note: Another new genus and new species have been described in the ¤ Intrasporangiaceae (¤ Phycicoccus and ¤ Phycicoccus jejuensis) with the same diagnostic diamino acid (see LEE (S.D.): Phycicoccus jejuensis gen. nov., sp. nov., an actinomycete isolated from seaweed. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2006, 56, 2369-2373).

Etymology: N.L. n. dieselum, diesel; L. v. vorare, to devour; N.L. part. adj. dieselivorans, diesel oil-devouring.
