Type species: ¤ Lachnobacterium bovis Whitford et al. 2001.
Etymology: Gr. n. lachnos, wool; L. neut. n. bacterium, a small rod; N.L. neut. n. Lachnobacterium, woolly rod, after its colonial morphology on agar.
