Etymology: L. adj. longus, long; N.L. n. mycelium (from Gr. n. myces, fungus) a cell net typical of a fungus; N.L. neut. n. Longimycelium, an actinomycete with long mycelium.

Etymology: N.L. neut. adj. tulufanense, pertaining to Tulufan, a city in the north-west of China, where the strain was isolated.
