Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Lutaonella, named after Lutao (Green Island), a small volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean, the geographical origin of the type strain.
Valid publication: ARUN (A.B.), CHEN (W.M.), LAI (W.A.), CHOU (J.H.), SHEN (F.T.), REKHA (P.D.) and YOUNG (C.C.): Lutaonella thermophila gen. nov., sp. nov., a moderately thermophilic member of the family Flavobacteriaceae isolated from a coastal hot spring.
