Lutispora Shiratori et al. 2008, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Lutispora thermophila Shiratori et al. 2008.
Etymology: L. n. lutum, mud, sludge; Gr. fem. n. spora, a seed and, in biology, a spore; N.L. fem. n. Lutispora, a spore-forming organism that lives in anaerobic sludge.
Valid publication: SHIRATORI (H.), OHIWA (H.), IKENO (H.), AYAME (S.), KATAOKA (N.), MIYA (A.), BEPPU (T.) and UEDA (K.): Lutispora thermophila gen. nov., sp. nov., a thermophilic, spore-forming bacterium isolated from a thermophilic methanogenic bioreactor digesting municipal solid wastes. Etymology:   Gr. fem. n. thermê, heat; N.L. adj. philus -a -um (from Gr. adj. philos -ê -on), friend, loving; N.L. fem. adj. thermophila, heat-loving.
