Note: Christensen and Cook 1978 also proposed the two following subspecies: Lysobacter enzymogenes subsp. enzymogenes, and Lysobacter enzymogenes subsp. cookii [1]. However, these subspecies were not cited in the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names [2, 3]. The ommission of these names from the Approved Lists 1980 is clearly not in accordance with the Rule 24a, Note 1 of Bacteriological Code (1990 Revision). According to Rule 23a Note 4, the Judicial Commission may correct the Approved Lists. Consequently Tindall and Euzéby [4] request that the Judicial Commission rules that these names be treated as having been included on the Approved Lists, and on the amended edition of the Lists.
