Mechercharimyces Matsuo et al. 2006, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Mechercharimyces mesophilus Matsuo et al. 2006.
Etymology: N.L. n. Mecherchar, a marine lake located on Mecherchar Island in the Republic of Palau, from where the organisms were isolated; Gr. masc. n. mukês, fungus; N.L. masc. n. Mechercharimyces, a fungus of Mecherchar.
