Etymology: N.L. n. natron (arbitrarily derived from the Arabic n. natrun or natron) soda, sodium carbonate; N.L. pref. natrono-, pertaining to soda; L. fem. n. cella, a room, a store-room and in biology a cell; N.L. fem. n. Natronocella, a cell that can tolerate soda.
