Type species: ¤ Parascardovia denticolens (Crociani et al. 1996) Jian and Dong 2002.
Etymology: Gr. prep. para, beside, alongside of, near, like; N.L. fem. n. Scardovia, a bacterial generic name; N.L. fem. n. Parascardovia, resembling Scardovia.
