Parasutterella Nagai et al. 2009, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Parasutterella excrementihominis Nagai et al. 2009.
Etymology: Gr. prep. para, beside, alongside of, near, like; N.L. fem. n. Sutterella, name of a bacterial genus; N.L. fem. n. Parasutterella, a genus similar to Sutterella.
Valid publication: NAGAI (F.), MOROTOMI (M.), SAKON (H.) and TANAKA (R.): Parasutterella excrementihominis gen. nov., sp. nov., a member of the family Alcaligenaceae isolated from human faeces. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2009, 59, 1793-1797.

Parasutterella secunda Morotomi et al. 2011, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) YIT 12071 = DSM 22575 = JCM 16078.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: AB491209.
Etymology: L. fem. adj. secunda, next to the first, the second, referring to the second species of the genus Parasutterella to be described.
