Type genus: ¤ Polyangium Link 1809 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. Polyangium, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Polyangiaceae, the Polyangium family.
