Etymology: Gr. adj. pseudês, false; N.L. fem. n. Enhygromyxa, a genus of marine myxobacteria; N.L. fem. n. Pseudenhygromyxa, a false Enhygromyxa.

Pseudenhygromyxa salsuginis Iizuka et al. 2013, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) SYR-2 = DSM 21377 = NBRC 104351.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: AB600195.
Etymology: L. gen. n. salsuginis, of brackish water, pertaining to the salty water from which the strain was isolated.
