Type species: ¤ Robinsoniella peoriensis Cotta et al. 2009.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Robinsoniella, in honour of Isadore M. Robinson, in recognition of his many contributions to swine microbiology.
Valid publication: COTTA (M.A.), WHITEHEAD (T.R.), FALSEN (E.), MOORE (E.) and LAWSON (P.A.): Robinsoniella peoriensis gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from a swine-manure storage pit and a human clinical source. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2009, 59, 150-155.

Robinsoniella peoriensis Cotta et al. 2009, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) PPC31 = CCUG 48729 = NRRL B-23985.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: AF445285.
Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. peoriensis, pertaining to Peoria, a city in Illinois, USA, from where the type strain was isolated.
