Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Robinsoniella, in honour of Isadore M. Robinson, in recognition of his many contributions to swine microbiology.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. peoriensis, pertaining to Peoria, a city in Illinois, USA, from where the type strain was isolated.
