Ruania Gu et al. 2007, gen. nov. (Type genus of the family ¤ Ruaniaceae Tang et al. 2010).
Type species: ¤ Ruania albidiflava Gu et al. 2007.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Ruania, named after Ji-Sheng Ruan, a Chinese microbiologist who has made great contributions to the development of actinomycete taxonomy in China.
