Type species: ¤ Salinactinospora qingdaonensis Chang et al. 2012.
Etymology: N.L. adj. salinus, saline; Gr. n. actis actinos, a ray; Gr. fem. n. spora, a seed; N.L. fem. n. Salinactinospora, an actinomycete originating from a saline habitat.
Valid publication: CHANG (X.), LIU (W.) and ZHANG (X.H.): Salinactinospora qingdaonensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a halophilic actinomycete isolated from a salt pond. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2012, 62, 954-959.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. qingdaonensis, of or pertaining to Qingdao, a city in the coastal region of East China, from which the type strain was isolated.
