Sebaldella Collins and Shah 1986, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Sebaldella termitidis (Sebald 1962) Collins and Shah 1986.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Sebaldella, named after the French microbiologist Madeleine Sebald, who first described the organism.
Valid publication: COLLINS (M.D.) and SHAH (H.N.): Reclassification of Bacteroides termitidis Sebald (Holdeman and Moore) in a new genus Sebaldella, as Sebaldella termitidis comb. nov. Int. J. Syst. Bacteriol., 1986, 36, 349-350.

Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: CP001739 (complete genome).
Basonym: ¤ Bacteroides termitidis (Sebald 1962) Holdeman and Moore 1970 (Approved Lists 1980).
Other synonym: "Sphaerophorus siccus var. termitidis" Sebald 1962.
Etymology: L. n. termes -itis, wood-eating worm; N.L. fem. adj. termitidis, pertaining to the termite.
