Seinonella Yoon et al. 2005, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Seinonella peptonophila (Nonomura and Ohara 1971) Yoon et al. 2005.
Etymology: N.L. dim. fem. n. Seinonella, named to honour Dr. Akio Seino, a Japanese microbiologist, for his contribution to the taxonomy of the genus Thermoactinomyces and actinomycetes.

Seinonella peptonophila (Nonomura and Ohara 1971) Yoon et al. 2005, comb. nov. (Type species of the genus.)

Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: AF138735.
Basonym: ¤ Thermoactinomyces peptonophilus Nonomura and Ohara 1971 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: Gr. adj. peptos, cooked; N.L. fem. adj. philua (from Gr. fem. adj. philê), loving; N.L. fem. adj. peptonophila, peptone loving.
