Note: Sheu et al. 2011 propose to transfer ¤ Sinobacter flavus Zhou et al. 2008, the type species of the genus Sinobacter, to the genus ¤ Solimonas as ¤ Solimonas flava (Zhou et al. 2008) Sheu et al. 2011, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Sinobacter to ¤ Solimonas.

Etymology: L. masc. adj. flavus, yellow, the colour of colonies or pigment that the bacterium produces.
