Sporosalibacterium Rezgui et al. 2011, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Sporosalibacterium faouarense Rezgui et al. 2011.
Etymology: Gr. n. spora, a seed and, in bacteriology, a spore; L. n. sal salis, salt; L. neut. n. bacterium, a rod; N.L. neut. n. Sporosalibacterium, a moderately halophilic sporulated rod.

Sporosalibacterium faouarense Rezgui et al. 2011, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) SOL3f37 = DSM 21485 = JCM 15487.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: EU567322.
Etymology: N.L. neut. adj. faouarense, of or belonging to the El Faouar area in south Tunisia, where the type strain was isolated.

Sporosalibacterium tautonense Podosokorskaya et al. 2017, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) MRo-4=DSM 28179=VKM B-2948.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: KX371568.
Etymology: N.L. neut. adj. tautonense, from the TauTona gold mine in South Africa, where the type strain was isolated.
