Type species: ¤ Stackebrandtia nassauensis Labeda and Kroppenstedt 2005.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Stackebrandtia, named for Erko Stackebrandt, a German microbiologist who has contributed significantly to the molecular systematics of prokaryotes, including actinobacteria.
