Etymology: N.L. n. Tamla, Tamla (old name of Jeju, Republic of Korea); N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. n. kokkos, a grain or berry), coccus; N.L. masc. n. Tamlicoccus, coccus pertaining to Tamla, referring to the site that the type strain was isolated.
