Type species: ¤ Thermocladium modestius Itoh et al. 1998.
Etymology: Gr. adj. thermos, hot; Gr. dim. neut. n. kladion, twig or shoot; N.L. neut. n. Thermocladium, a hot twig, indicating branching cells in a hot environment.
