Type species: ¤ Thermocrispum municipale Korn-Wendisch et al. 1995.
Etymology: Gr. adj. thermos, warm, hot; L. neut. adj. crispum, having curled hair, tightly curled; N.L. neut. n. Thermocrispum, a heat-loving, tightly curled organism.
