Venenivibrio Hetzer et al. 2008, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Venenivibrio stagnispumantis Hetzer et al. 2008.
Etymology: L. neut. n. venenum, poison; L. v. vibro, to set in tremulous motion, move to and fro, vibrate; N.L. masc. n. vibrio, that which vibrates, and also a bacterial genus name of bacteria possessing a curved rod shape (Vibrio); N.L. masc. n. Venenivibrio, the vibrio of poison.

Etymology: L. n. stagnum, pool; L. part. adj. spumans, foaming, frothing; N.L. gen. n. stagnispumantis, from a frothing pool, referring to Champagne Pool.
