Type species: ¤ Williamsia muralis Kämpfer et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Williamsia, named to honour Stanley T. Williams, a British microbiologist, for his numerous contributions to the taxonomy and ecology of catinomycetes.
