Etymology: N.L. neut. n. zeaxanthinum, zeaxanthin; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Zeaxanthinibacter, zeaxanthin-producing rod-like bacterium.

Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. enoshimensis, pertaining to Enoshima Island in Japan, where the type strain was isolated.
