Etymology: Ko.na.te.i.bac’ter. N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Konateibacter, a rod named in honour of Salimata Konate, a Malian microbiologist for her implication in the research on severe acute malnutrition using the culturomics approach, and bacter, ‘bacterium’
