Name: Bifidobacterium scaligerum Modesto et al. 2020
Etymology: sca.li’ge.rum. M.L. neut. adj. scaligerum, refers to the name of the family of the “Scaligeri” from “Della Scala”, who were lords of Verona the middle age. The adjective “scaligerus” is also used as synonymous of inhabitant of Verona, Italian city where the type strain was sampled
