Etymology: her.ba.ri’co.lor. L. masc. n. herbarius, one skilled in plants, a botanist; L. masc. n. color, color; N.L. masc. n. herbaricolor, grass colored green referring to the grass green diffusible pigment produced by the microorganism on chemically defined media (nominative in apposition)
