🧍 CCUG had received the strain LLAP 12 from France and assigned a preliminary number, CCUG 0111. The strain ultimately did not become a part of the CCUG collection. — Moore ERB. Personal communication, 2021-03-04.
🧍 The type strain has been also deposited in the Collection de l'Unité des Rickettsies (WHO Collaborative Center for Rickettsial Reference and Research, Marseilles, France). — Strict application of the Rules would mean that Legionella drancourtii La Scola et al. 2004 is not validly published because the protologue makes reference to the deposit of the type strain in a single recognized culture collection. Moreover, the "Collection de l'Unité des Rickettsies (WHO Collaborative Center for Rickettsial Reference and Research, Marseilles, France)" is not registrated in WDCM, and its status of publicly accessible service collection is questionable. However, the type strain is only available as a co-culture in an amoeba (Acanthamoeba polyphaga), which probably explains why most other collections will not take it. Consequently, as for obligate barophiles or organisms of Risk Group 3, it seems sensible to make an exception to Rules 27(3) and 30 and to consider that Legionella drancourtii La Scola et al. 2004 is validly published.Publication:
