Name: Legionella fallonii Adeleke et al. 2001
Etymology: fall’o.ni.i. N.L. gen. masc. n. fallonii, in honour of the Late Ronald Fallon who contributed immensely to our knowledge of legionellae and was the first to produce Legionella antigen and antiserum in the UK in 1977. He worked on an isolate from a case on the ship from which LLAP-10T was isolated
