¤ Streptomyces Waksman and Henrici 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Wellington et al. 1992.

Note: Wellington et al. 1992 propose to transfer ¤ Kitasatospora setae corrig. Notes:
1 On the basis of phylogenetic (analysis of 16S rDNA sequences and analysis of 16S-23S gene spacers), chemotaxonomic, and phenotypic evidence, Zhang et al. 1997 propose that the genus Kitasatospora corrig. Ōmura et al. 1983 be either a sister taxon of the genus ¤ Streptomyces or a lineage that originated fom within Streptomyces species.
2 According to the Judicial Commission, there is no problem about the legitimacy of the genus Kitasatospora corrig. Ōmura et al. 1983 emend. Zhang et al. 1997, even if the tables in the publication by Zhang et al. 1997 are the only way of recognizing which species are to be included in this genus.
