Type species: ¤ Mogibacterium pumilum Nakazawa et al. 2000.
Etymology: Gr. adj. mogis, with toil and pain, i. e. hardly, scarcely; L. neut. n. bacterium, a small rod; N.L. neut. n. Mogibacterium, a difficult-to-culture, rod-shaped bacterium.
