Type genus: ¤ Parachlamydia Everett et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Parachlamydia, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Parachlamydiaceae, the Parachlamydia family.
