Type genus: ¤ Salmonella Lignieres 1900 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Salmonella, type genus of the tribe; suff. -eae, ending to denote a tribe; N.L. fem. pl. n. Salmonelleae, the Salmonella tribe.
