Donghaeana Yoon et al. 2006, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Donghaeana dokdonensis Yoon et al. 2006.
Etymology: N.L. n. Donghae, the Korean name of the East Sea in Korea; L. fem. suff. -ana, suffix used with the sense of belonging to; N.L. fem. n. (N.L. fem. adj. used as a substantive) Dhongaeana, named after the East Sea of Korea, where Dokdo is located.
Valid publication: YOON (J.H.), KANG (S.J.), LEE (C.H.) and OH (T.K.): Donghaeana dokdonensis gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from sea water. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2006, 56, 187-191.

Note: Nedashkovskaya et al. 2009 propose to transfer Donghaeana dokdonensis Yoon et al. 2006 (the type species of the genus Donghaeana) to the genus ¤ Persicivirga as ¤ Persicivirga dokdonensis (Yoon et al. 2006) Nedashkovskaya et al. 2009, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Donghaeana to ¤ Persicivirga.
