Nonlabens Lau et al. 2005, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Nonlabens tegetincola Lau et al. 2005.
Etymology: L. adv. non, not; L. part. adj. labens, gliding; N.L. masc. n. (N.L. part. adj. used as a substantive) Nonlabens, non-gliding.
Valid publication: LAU (S.C.K.), TSOI (M.M.Y.), LI (X.), PLAKHOTNIKOVA (I.), DOBRETSOV (S.), WONG (P.K.), PAWLIK (J.R.) and QIAN (P.Y.): Nonlabens tegetincola gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel member of the family Flavobacteriaceae isolated from a microbial mat in a subtropical estuary. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2005, 55, 2279-2283.

Note:
The gender is not given by Lau et al. 2005 [1] and the specific epithet of the sole species does not allow the correct gender to be determined. Nonlabens may be in the masculine, in the feminine, or in the neuter gender. According to Rule 65(3) when the original author failed to indicate the gender, a subsequent author has the right of choice. In 2012, Yi and Chun propose an emendation of the genus Nonlabens (see below) and these authors choose the masculine gender.
