Teichobacteria Cavalier-Smith 2002, class. nov.
Type order: ¤ Bacillales Prévot 1953 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: Gr. n. teichos, wall; Gr. n. baktêria, staff, cane; suff. -ia, ending to denote a class; N.L. neut. pl. n. Teichobacteria, group of bacteria which encompass teichoic acid in their walls.
