= ¤ Beneckea alginolytica (Miyamoto et al. 1961) Baumann et al. 1971 (Approved Lists 1980).

Note: Vibrio alginolyticus (Miyamoto et al. 1961) Sakazaki 1968 (Approved Lists 1980) and Beneckea alginolytica (Miyamoto et al. 1961) Baumann et al. 1971 (Approved Lists 1980) have the same type strain and therefore are homotypic synonyms [Rules 24a and 24b (1)]. However, the type species of Beneckea is transferred in the genus Vibrio. So, according to Rule 37a, the name Beneckea alginolytica must be changed to Vibrio alginolyticus.

Note: Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Fujino et al. 1951) Sakazaki et al. 1963 (Approved Lists 1980) and Beneckea parahaemolytica (Fujino et al. 1951) Baumann et al. 1971 (Approved Lists 1980) have the same type strain and therefore are homotypic synonyms [Rules 24a and 24b (1)]. However, the type species of Beneckea is transferred in the genus Vibrio. So, according to Rule 37a, the name Beneckea parahaemolytica must be changed to Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
