🧍 In the paper by Whiley and Beighton 1991, the type strain is also designated (p. 3) as ATCC 33397(sic). — Data from DNA-DNA hybridization experiments, whole-cell-derived polypeptide patterns, and data from phenotypic testing demonstrate that Streptococcus intermedius Prévot 1925 (Approved Lists 1980), Streptococcus anginosus (Andrewes and Horder 1906) Smith and Sherman 1938 (Approved Lists 1980), and Streptococcus constellatus (Prévot 1924) Holdeman and Moore 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) are distinct species [1].
