Streptomycesbiverticillatus is the correct name if this species is regarded as a separate species (i.e., if its nomenclatural type is not assigned to another species whose name is validly published, legitimate and not rejected and has priority) within a separate genus Streptomyces.
The distinct name Streptomyces alboverticillatus from the same publication has a similar spelling.Publication:
Angell RC, Freund GE, Willett P. Automatic spelling correction using a trigram similarity measure. Information Processing and Management 1983; 19:255-261.
In violation of Rule 33c, on the Validation List no. 38, Streptomyces biverticillatus is proposed as a nomen revictum [basonym: "Streptomyces biverticillatus" (Preobrazhenskaya 1957) Pridham et al. 1958].Publication:
Anonymous. Validation list no. 58. Validation of publication of new names and new combinations previously effectively published outside the IJSB. Int J Syst Bacteriol 1996; 46:836-837.
This proposal is in violation of Rule 24b(1) because the senior epithet is roseoverticillatus. Streptomyces baldaccii, Streptomyces biverticillatus, and Streptomyces fervens are therefore to be regarded as later heterotypic synonyms of Streptomyces roseoverticillatus [2].Publication:
