Streptomycesolivoreticuli is the correct name if this species is regarded as a separate species (i.e., if its nomenclatural type is not assigned to another species whose name is validly published, legitimate and not rejected and has priority) within a separate genus Streptomyces.
In violation of Rule 33c, on the Validation List no. 38, Streptomyces olivoreticuli is proposed as a nomen revictum (basonym: "Streptomyces olivoreticuli" Arai et al. 1957).Publication:
Anonymous. Validation list no. 58. Validation of publication of new names and new combinations previously effectively published outside the IJSB. Int J Syst Bacteriol 1996; 46:836-837.
Witt and Stackebrandt proposed to transfer Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) to the genus Streptomyces as Streptomyces olivoreticuli (Arai et al. 1957) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991. However, the Validation Lists no. 38 does not include formal propositions about Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli subsp. cellulophilum corrig. (ex Anonymous 1973) Locci and Schofield 1989 and Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli subsp. olivoreticuli corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Locci and Schofield 1989.Publication:
