- Streptomyces phosalacineus is the correct name if this species is regarded as a separate species (i.e., if its nomenclatural type is not assigned to another species whose name is validly published, legitimate and not rejected and has priority) within a separate genus Streptomyces.
- This name was not found in the expected IJSEM notification list.
- On the basis of phylogenetic (analysis of 16S rDNA sequences and analysis of 16S-23S gene spacers), chemotaxonomic, and phenotypic evidence, Zhang et al. 1997 propose that the genus Kitasatospora corrig. Ōmura et al. 1983 be either a sister taxon of the genus Streptomyces or a lineage that originated fom within Streptomyces species. Publication: Zhang Z, Wang Y, Ruan J.
