heterotypic synonym, validly published under the ICNP
Notes:
According to Coenye et al. (2004), this species is an earlier heterotypic synonym of Stenotrophomonasafricana Drancourt et al. 1997.Publication:
Coenye T, Vanlaere E, Falsen E, Vandamme P. Stenotrophomonas africana Drancourt et al. 1997 is a later synonym of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (Hugh 1981) Palleroni and Bradbury 1993. Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2004; 54:1235-1237.
According to Van den Mooter and Swings (1990), this species is an earlier heterotypic synonym of Pseudomonasbetle (Ragunathan 1928) Savulescu 1947 (Approved Lists 1980) but this is in conflict with the rules of the International Code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes.Publication:

Pseudomonasmaltophilia is the correct name if this species is regarded as a separate species (i.e., if its nomenclatural type is not assigned to another species whose name is validly published, legitimate and not rejected and has priority) within a separate genus Pseudomonas.
